Rachael Robertson – Waterday Foundation Goodwill Embassador 2019

Before the end of January 2019, our Embassadors had already raised over $1000. This money went directly to Waterday Foundation’s chosen charities!

This is the contents of their first campaign:

As many of you know, our father, Randal Ray Robertson, fought a long, hard battle with cancer. Those of us directly touched by cancer know just how much this horrible disease invades every aspect of your life. It surpasses being able to pay daunting medical bills. It roots itself into your quality of life, your family’s lives and yet still it goes further: a daunting medical bill trickles into a past due car payment, an inability to pay rent, buy groceries, get gas, or even support your children. When you can’t pay your bills or support your family, the stress builds. That stress, paired with the stress of being infested with a life-altering disease, means you aren’t able to enjoy life…or what could be your last moments with your loved ones. In every way, cancer is a disease that roots itself in all aspects of life. So many of you generously came to our aid when our father was suffering from the devastating effects of cancer. We were and are endlessly thankful to have such an amazing community supporting us throughout our father’s battle.

Another huge supporter of our father was an organization that often goes past just contributing to medical bills: Vickie’s Angels. What many of you don’t know about this incredible group is that every last penny donated goes directly to helping any and every aspect of a cancer patient’s life. Vickie’s Angels was so very crucial to our family in so many ways. We truly can’t thank them enough for their help and all they did for our family. They didn’t just give us donations—they gave us peace of mind, stability and the blessing of being able to focus on our time together as a family. They saved us more than we can mention. They took away the worry. While we can never match what they did for our family, we would like to use our birthday as an opportunity to give back!

Recently, Rachael and I joined with the wonderful Waterday Foundation as Good Will Ambassadors! As GWA’s, we are driven to help raise money to the charitable groups the Waterday Foundation financially supports —and Vickie’s Angels is one of them!

We would like to give back to the organization who gave us so much. So, for our birthday, we are asking for you to consider donating to Vickie’s Angels in the memory of our father, who taught us to always help those in need. Please donate as much as you can—even if it’s only $5 dollars. We can’t explain the difference it can make in someone else’s life. We can truly say, however, that in our own lives and the life of our father, the difference was indescribable. They gave our father the day-to-day things we needed despite what we could afford and the ability to finally have peace-of-mind.

Please consider donating today and thank you all so much for making this an amazing birthday! And while he may not be able to directly say so, we know our father thanks you as well💚💚💚💚
